Chiropractic Techniques

Manual Adjustments
Commonly known as “cracking” and spinal manipulation. A manual adjustment uses a low amplitude, high velocity thrust to provide movement back to joints and/or regions that are dysfunctional. This technique can be used throughout most of the joints in the body. Chiropractors primarily use this technique through the spinal joints.

Instrument & Lower Force Adjustments
For patients who prefer a lower force approach or when manual adjustments are not clinically indicated, the chiropractor will opt for use of the activator or other low force techniques. These techniques use a low amplitude, high velocity impulse to provide movement back to joints and/or regions that are dysfunctional.

Soft Tissue Therapy
Our chiropractors may use muscle release techniques or trigger point therapy to help reduce muscular tension. This technique shouldn’t be confused with remedial massage.
There are more techniques our chiropractors may use in everyday practice at our Lara and Spotswood clinics. If you have any questions about what chiropractic techniques we use in our clinics contact us.

The Common Suburbs We Provide Care
Chiropractic Techniques
At Clover Chiropractic, we utilise a range of evidence-informed chiropractic techniques to deliver personalised, effective care. Every patient is different, which is why we tailor our approach based on your condition, comfort level, and health goals. Our focus is on restoring movement, reducing pain, and improving overall function through safe and targeted techniques.
Manual Chiropractic Adjustments
Manual adjustments are one of the most recognised chiropractic techniques. These involve precise, controlled movements applied to specific joints, most commonly the spine. The goal is to restore proper joint motion, reduce stiffness, and improve nervous system function. This technique is can be highly effective for conditions such as back pain, neck pain, and joint restrictions.
Low-Force Techniques
For patients who prefer a gentler approach, we offer low-force chiropractic techniques. These methods use minimal pressure and are ideal for individuals who may be sensitive to manual adjustments, including older adults or those experiencing acute pain. Low-force techniques still aim to improve joint function and reduce discomfort while prioritising patient comfort.
Instrument-Assisted Adjustments
Instrument-assisted techniques involve the use of specialised tools to deliver precise and controlled adjustments without the need for manual force. This method allows for targeted treatment of specific areas and is often used when a more measured approach is required. It is a comfortable and effective option for many patients.
Soft Tissue Therapy
In addition to joint-focused techniques, we incorporate soft tissue therapy to address muscles, ligaments, and surrounding structures. Tight or overactive muscles may contribute to pain and restricted movement, so releasing tension in these areas plays an important role in recovery. This approach helps improve flexibility, reduce discomfort, and support overall treatment outcomes.
Posture and Movement Correction
Poor posture and inefficient movement patterns are common contributors to musculoskeletal issues. As part of your care, we assess how your body moves and provide practical strategies to improve posture and reduce strain. This may include simple adjustments to your work setup, daily habits, or movement techniques.
Rehabilitation and Exercise Guidance
To support long-term results, we provide tailored rehabilitation and exercise advice. Strengthening key areas of the body can help stabilise joints, prevent recurrence, and maintain the improvements achieved through chiropractic care. These exercises are designed to be practical and easy to incorporate into your routine.
A Personalised Approach to Care
At Clover Chiropractic, no two treatments are the same. We combine different chiropractic techniques based on what will be most effective for you. Whether you require hands-on adjustments, gentle techniques, or a combination of approaches, your care is always tailored to achieve the best possible outcome.
Our goal is not only to relieve your current symptoms but to help you move better, function optimally, and maintain long-term health.
